Hello Sauras! This is Dr. Bottoms with your Saura Weekly Update. On Monday, a representative from High Point University will be on campus to talk with students interested in attending HPU. There will be an Athletic Boosters Club meeting Monday night at 6:30 in the cafeteria. There are 2 interest meetings for international student travel happening this week. On Tuesday at 6 pm in the media center, there will be an interest meeting for the 2026 trip to Costa Rica and Panama. On Thursday, also in the media center but at 7 pm will be an interest meeting for the 2025 trip to Greece. Parking enforcement begins this week, so students with parking passes will need to begin parking in their assigned spaces. This week the Stokes County Fair will be operating in King. If you and your family attend, please be sure to visit our FFA and Agriculture students in the barn area. This Friday night's home football game against East Surry is South District Student Spirit Night. All South Stokes students get in free, and all students from Germanton Elementary, London Elementary, Walnut Cove Elementary, and Southeastern Middle School get in free with a paying adult. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Elia Jaffe. Elia is a member of the BETA Club, and in July she donated books to an elementary school in Colombia. In addition, she went to the school, presented the books to the students and read one to the kids. Thank you Elia, for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, on Monday, soccer travels to East Surry. On Tuesday tennis hosts Elkin and volleyball hosts Starmount. On Wednesday, golf is at Hemlock and soccer travels to Alleghany. Thursday, tennis hosts Alleghany, volleyball travels to North Stokes, cross country is at Fisher Park. This Friday, football hosts East Surry with kick off at 7:30.
