Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. Monday school is out for Labor Day, students and staff return back to school on Tuesday. This Friday, September 8th, is picture day at South Stokes for9th-11th grade students. Make up picture day for Seniors and9th-11th grade students is October 20th. This Saturday, September 9th, from 11-5, Seniors have an opportunity to come paint their parking spaces. Students should see Mrs. Dunn in rm C9 for more information. Congratulations to our 2023 Homecoming Court: Isabella Butler, Laci Morefield, Zaylie Overby, Sydney Patterson, Ariana Payne, Caroline Phipps, Lilian Quensinberry, Mackenzie Smith, Sage Stovall nd Korbyn Tyler. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Senior Laci Moorefield. Laci came in to help Mrs. Johnson distribute recycling bins at South Stokes High School during the work days, thanks Laci. This week in Saura sports, on Tuesday volleyball travels to East Wilkes, soccer travels to NC Leadership Academy and tennis travels to Starmount. On Wednesday, soccer travels to Alleghany. On Thursday, golf is at Alleghany, tennis hosts North Stokes, volleyball travels to East Surry, cross country will be at Fischer River Park, and JV football travels to East Surry. This Friday, varsity football will host East Surry at South Stokes. If the track project is delayed and we are unable to host East Surry, we will make announcements over social media and phone messages about where Friday night's game will be.
