Saura Weekly Update 9/30/24-10/4/24

Hello Sauras! This is Chris Bottoms with your Saura Weekly Update. Our school will be helping the South Stokes Fire and Rescue in collecting goods for a Relief Drive for those impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western NC. We will be collecting these goods in the office and lobby through October 10th. The goods being collected are : Water/Gatorade, baby diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, non perishable foods, cleaning supplies, hygiene supplies, dry dog and cat food, flashlights, batteries, first aid items, and monetary donations. On Wednesday this week South Stokes will be holding our annual College Fair. This will be during lunch from 11:15 - 12:30, and students will meet with representatives about college. On Friday this week we will celebrating our students that earned a CTE certification last spring. These students will receive an email from our assistant principal Mrs. Nowlin inviting them to this celebration, at the beginning of 4th period this Friday. Students will receive a snack, water and a certificate of achievement This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Emily Moore. A student was struggling to understand a math concept and Emily continuously positively encouraging the other student and got other students in the classroom to clap when said student got the concept. Thank you Emily, for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, on Monday, we will be hosting our rescheduled football game against East Wilkes, kick off at 6:30. Volleyball will be hosting Walkertown. On Tuesday tennis hosts North Stokes, cross country is at McMichael, and Soccer hosts Mt. Airy. On Wednesday, tennis travels to Starmount, volleyball travels to East Wilkes and soccer travels to Elkin. Thursday, tennis hosts Elkin, volleyball travels to Starmount and tennis travels to North Stokes. This Friday football travels to Alleghany, with kick off at 7:00.
