Saura Weekly Update 9/25/23 - 9/29/23

Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. Monday, 9/25, is a teacher workday, so students will return to school on Tuesday. On Monday night we are having Senior Parent night at South Stokes at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. Senior parents are invited to learn about graduation, post graduation, and the college application process. This week is Spirit Week at South Stokes, and this leads up to Homecoming this Friday night. Tuesday is Favorite Color Day, Wednesday is Under the Sea Day, Thursday is Red Carpet Day, and Friday is Saura Pride Day. After the Homecoming game, we will be having a Homecoming dance in the school from 9:30 - 11:30 for South Stokes students. Admission is $10, and tickets can be purchased online or in the office. On Tuesday, progress reports will be coming home and the band boosters will be meeting in the band room at 6:00 pm. On Wednesday night at 6:00 pm the Beta Club will be having the induction ceremony for its new members in the Auditorium. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Nick Leophard and Kasside McBride. Nick and Kasside stayed behind after the football game to help bring everything back to the band room and clean up. Thank you Nick and Kasside for leading the way. This week in Saura Sports, on Monday soccer hosts North Stokes, on Tuesday tennis travels to Forbush and volleyball hosts Mt. Airy. On Wednesday soccer hosts Elkin. On Thursday, JV football travels to Alleghany, tennis hosts Starmount, volleyball hosts East Wilkes, soccer travels to East Wilkes and cross country is at Fischer River Park. On Friday, the football team will be playing against Alleghany in our Homecoming football game.
