Saura Weekly Update 9/23/24 - 9/27/24

Hello Sauras! This is Chris Bottoms with your Saura Weekly Update. All this week we will be showing our Saura Spirit as we lead into our Homecoming Game against East Wilkes, where we will crown this year's Homecoming Queen, Princess, and Miss Congeniality. This week's Spirit Themes are as follows: Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Favorite Jersey Day, Wednesday is Country vs City Day, Thursday is Throwback Thursday, and Friday is Retro Saura Pride Day. On Friday we will be having our Homecoming Pep Rally. This Monday night we will be having the Beta Club Induction Ceremony at South Stokes at 6:00 pm. On Wednesday we invite our Senior Parents for Senior Parent Night at South Stokes. This event will be in the library starting at 5:30 and will help parents in understanding the next steps for our Seniors as the complete their final year and prepare for post graduation opportunities. On Thursday Seniors will be meeting in the gym after the morning announcements in order to receive cap and gown order information from Jostens. Following this meeting, Sophomores will be meeting with the Jostens rep to learn about class ring information. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Zinnia Burgess. Zinnia came up with an impressive campus improvement project to do through the environmental club. She has done most of the planning and organizing. Thank you Zinnia, for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, on Monday, golf is at East Wilkes. On Tuesday volleyball travels to Mt. Airy. On Wednesday, golf is at Elkin and soccer hosts Starmount. Thursday, tennis at Starmount, volleyball and JV football travel to East Wilkes.
