Saura Weekly Update 9/18/23 - 9/22/23

Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. Parking passes were distributed last week, students will need to park in their assigned spaces starting on Monday. School fee amounts were distributed to students in homeroom on Friday, and an email was sent out last week for parents that have registered online. Fees can be paid online through school cash online, or in the office. Please have your child's fees paid by the end of September. This Wednesday we will be having a school improvement team meeting in room D3 after school at 3:30. This Friday the Student Government Association will be having elections for class and student body officers. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Nathaniel Maxwell. Nathaniel participates in class activities, always helps his classmates and is kind to everyone. Thank you for leading the way Nathaniel. This week in Saura Sports, Fall Sports pictures will be taken on Monday, after school. Also on Monday, the JV Football team travels to Elkin for the make up football game from last week. On Tuesday, Tennis hosts Elkin, Volleyball hosts Elkin, and cross country travels to Elkin. On Wednesday, soccer travels to Starmount. On Thursday, JV football hosts East Wilkes, tennis hosts East Wilkes, Volleyball travels to Alleghany, and soccer travels to East Surry. On Friday football travels to East Wilkes. With a look ahead, next week there is no school on Monday, 9/25 for a teacher workday. Next week is Spirit Week at South Stokes, and this leads up to Homecoming next Friday night. After the Homecoming game, we will be having a Homecoming dance in the school from 9:00 - 11:00. Admission is $10, and tickets can be purchased online or in the office.
