Saura Weekly Update 8/26/24 - 8/30/24

Hello Sauras! This Tuesday, August 27th we will be having Spirit Night at Kobe Japanese Restaurant in Walnut Cove from 5-9 pm. Any students that come out will be entered into a drawing for some Saura Spirit prizes. This Friday we will be having our first Pep Rally to celebrate our fall athletes and our first home football game this season. Senior Parents! Yearbook staff are still selling senior ad pages while supplies last. Once the pages are filled, there will be no more ads for sell so contact Mrs. Rogers as soon as possible if you are interested in purchasing an ad for your senior. Mrs. Rogers' email can be found on the school website. Also send a baby photo with your senior to bring to the art room during school if you would like to have their baby photo featured in the yearbook as well.Looking ahead, school is out Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day, and picture day at South Stokes is Friday September 6th. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Kyaha King. Kyaha has been very supportive of our new freshmen in band and has went above and beyond helping them learn new music and adjust to high school. Thank you Kyaha, for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, on Monday soccer hosts Bishop McGuinness, and the baseball team will have a meeting in the cafeteria at 3:00 pm. On Tuesday, tennis hosts East Wilkes and volleyball travels to Allegheny. On Wednesday, Volleyball hosts Bethany and soccer hosts East Surry. Thursday, volleyball hosts Mt. Airy, and cross country goes to Ivey Redmon. This Friday, football hosts North Surry for the first home game of the season.
