Hello Sauras, this is Mr. Bottoms with your weekly update from South Stokes. This Tuesday we will have Freshman Orientation from 3:30 to 6:00, with a parent meeting with the freshmen and parents at 5:00pm. (9th grade students should report to the gym for a Welcome meeting and to distribute schedules. Open House for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students will begin at 6:00pm. More detailed information about Open House can be found on the school homepage. Parents, please note this school year that students will not have free breakfast or lunch at school unless your family qualifies. We will be sending home the Free and Reduced lunch application on the first day of school, but you can apply online. Our school nutrition department has shifted from the previously used K-12 Payment Center to a user-friendly platform called the Titan Family Portal. As you prepare for your students to return to classes, don't forget to check out the Titan Family Portal, where you can apply for free and reduced benefits or add money to your student's account. You can find more information by visiting the district's school nutrition website or your school's website. If you need assistance, call the school nutrition office at 336-593-1100. This week in Saura Sports, the JV Football game from last week will be made up Monday night, home against West Stokes. Also on Monday, volleyball will be at North Surry. On Wednesday Soccer is home against McMichael, and volleyball is away against North Wilkes. On Thursday JV Football is away against Bishop McGuinness and Volleyball is home against East Surry. On Friday we will host Bishop McGuinness in Varsity Football.
