Saura Weekly Update 5/27/24-5/31/24

Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. School will be out on Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day. Exams begin on Friday, May 31st. During the exam period students are allowed to leave school after their exam for the day, however the buses will not dismiss until the end of the school day at 3:20. If your child is a bus rider and would like to leave after their exam, they will need a note giving them permission to ride home with another student or be picked up after their exam. Friday's exam is for first period exams, if your child is exempt from this exam, they do not need to attend. Students taking state required EOC and CTE tests cannot be exempt from exams. If you have any questions about exams and exemptions, please call the school or email me. There is a band booster meeting in the band room on Tuesday at 6:30pm. On Wednesday after announcements, Strawbridge photographers will meet with the junior class to discuss their Senior portraits this summer. With a look ahead, next week we will continue with exams and we will be having our Graduation Ceremony at South Stokes in our football stadium at 7:00 pm on Friday June 7th. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to James Kiger. James always takes initiative to get things done and acts as a leader inside and outside of the classroom. Thank you for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, on Wednesday there will be a Meet and Greet with our new Head Football Coach Josh Mickey. We invite our returning players and their families to meet the coach and enjoy some hot dogs and refreshments.
