Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. This week is Spirit Week at South Stokes High School. Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is High Tide Day (students wear surf or beach attire), Wednesday is Country vs Country Club Day, Thursday is Throwback Thursday/Decades Day (students wear clothes from a different decade, and Friday is Saura Pride Day. On Tuesday there will be a band booster meeting in the band room at 6:30. On Wednesday Spring Athletes will have sports pictures after school. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week is Farm Animal Days. Our FFA and Ag Students will be working to present information to 2nd graders across the county about farm animals. The Junior/Senior Prom is Saturday, May 6th from 7 to 11pm, at the Barn on Shelton Farm in Madison. This is a formal event, proper attire is required. Tickets cost $35 each cash only. This price includes food and beverages, DJ, venue rental, security, and other miscellaneous expenses. Tickets will be sold starting this Tuesday, April 25th during lunch, and before and after school in Mrs. Barczy's classroom. Tickets and information will be distributed on Friday, May 5th in homeroom. This Friday, April 28th is the last day to turn in outside date forms. Please remember to include a copy of the outside date's ID or license with the application to Mrs. Barczy. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Payton Barbee. Payton will be attending the Resource Conservation Workshop this summer at NC State. Her registration will be paid by the Stokes Soil and Water Conservation District, congratulations Payton. This week in Saura sports, on Monday softball travels to Alleghany and soccer travels to Mt. Airy. On Tuesday baseball travels to Elkin and softball hosts North Stokes for Senior Night. On Wednesday baseball and softball host Elkin at home, it is Senior night for baseball. On Thursday soccer hosts North Stokes. On Friday track will be home.
