Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. Congratulations to the Men's Basketball Team on making it to the 1A Western Regional final, the final four of the State tournament. They will be playing against Corvian Community School at the LJVM Coliseum on Monday night at 8:00pm. Tickets can be purchased on ticketmaster or at the door. They will be enforcing a clear bag policy like the districts around ours have. Monday morning students interested in learning about Atrium Health's Rise to Success program will meet with a representative to discuss how High school graduates can earn an associate’s degree or certification in a health care related discipline from a local community college. Tuition, textbooks, fees and scrubs will be paid by Atrium Health. While participants are in college, they will be hired into entry level part-time positions. Ms Johnson and Mrs Jaffe are leading a trip to the Dominican Republic in June 2025. They are holding an interest meeting in the media center on Wednesday March 20th. Please contact either Mrs. Jaffe or Ms Johnson with any questions. Please consider helping your community by donating blood at the SSHS Spring Blood Drive on Wednesday, 3/13th from 8:30 to 1:30 in the back gym. There will be an Athletic Boosters Meeting on Wednesday 3/13 at 6:30 in the cafeteria. The SSHS Athletics $10,000 Cash Give Away is coming up Saturday March 23rd, at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $100 and include a meal for too. Please help support all of our athletics. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Kelly Holmes. Kelly noticed how much Mrs. Fouche was spending for her student snacks and helped her find a Little Debbie vendor who gave her an incredible discount. Thank you for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, on Monday, mens basketball is in the final four at the LJVM, tip off at 8:00pm, tickets are $10. Also on Monday, soccer travels to Walkertown. On Tuesday, baseball and softball host Alleghany, tennis hosts West Stokes and golf is at Hemlock. On Wednesday baseball travels to McMichael and soccer hosts East Surry. On Thursday soccer travels to West Stokes, golf is at Deep Springs, and softball hosts Uwharrie Charter. On Friday softball travels to Mt. Airy and baseball travels to Alleghany.
