Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. This week is school counselor appreciation week, thank you to our counselors Christina Sawyer, Jennifer Spargo, and our At Risk Facilitator Lauren Hill. This week is Sweetheart Spirit Week, with our Sweetheart Court being held on Tuesday night's basketball game against county rival North Stokes. Monday is PJ Day, Tuesday is Pink/Red Day and we will also be having our Pep Rally for the Sweetheart Court., Wednesday is Dress as your type Day, Thursday is BBQ Dads and Soccer Moms Day, and Friday is Saura Pride Day. On Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week we will be holding ACT Review Sessions, for math, science and English, respectively. The ACT will be held in March, and is an important test for students wishing to go to college. and can help students place out of classes if they plan to attend community college. It will be from 3:30-4:30 and snacks will be provided. Students should bring paper, pencil, and a calculator. On Monday night at 6:30 we will be having an Athletic Boosters meeting at 6:30 in the cafeteria. Our Athletic Boosters $10,000 Cash Drawing is currently selling tickets for $100. The money raised goes towards helping your all of our Saura Athletic teams. See a coach or the front office if you would like to buy one. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Mrs. Sawyer and Ms. Spargo. Our school counselors do a great job helping our students navigate their courses, cope with the stress of being a teen in today's world, and help our school be a better place for everyone, thank you. This week in Saura sports, on Tuesday Basketball is home against North Stokes. On Friday basketball is home against Elkin for Senior Night. On Friday and Saturday, wrestling is at Uwharrie Charter for Individual Regionals.
