Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. Monday night at 6:00 pm we will be having Curriculum Night at South Stokes. We are inviting all rising 9th graders to join us at 6:00 pm to learn more about their future as a Saura. On Tuesday, the Junior class will be taking the ACT. Progress reports also go home on Tuesday, but due to the ACT, some students may not receive their progress report until Wednesday. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Collin Carmen. Collin volunteered to become the drone team mechanic. On his own accord, he took the time to learn all necessary steps to understand how to troubleshoot and repair the drones. He also inspired others to learn more the drones and to serve as assistant mechanics. Collin's initiative resulted in quick repairs of three broken drones during the drone competition. Thank you for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, congratulations to the boys varsity basketball team on the 3-peat Conference Tournament championship. On Tuesday, both girls and boys basketball teams are in the state tournament. The girls travel to North Stokes, and the boys will host Highland Tech. Both games begin at 6:00 pm. Spring sports begin their first games this week. On Monday, baseball travels to Surry Central. On Tuesday softball travels to McMichael. On Wednesday baseball travels to McMichael and on Thursday softball hosts West Stokes. This information can also be found at the events section of our school homepage as well as under the Saura Weekly Updates on the school web page. Thank you for your support of South Stokes High School, and as always, GO SAURAS!
