Saura Weekly Update 2/21/22-2/25/22

Hello Sauras, this is Mr. Bottoms with your weekly update from South Stokes. This week is FFA Week and we will have several events to celebrate our South Stokes Future Farmers of America. Monday is Carhart Day and our FFA will be providing the school board with AG Awareness Boxes. Tuesday is Camo Day and FFA is providing Ag Appreciation bags to local businesses. Wednesday is Boots and Buckles Day and FFA will be having Ag Olympics during lunch. Thursday is America Day and we will have a petting Zoo during lunch. Friday is FFA day and it is drive your tractor or muddy truck to school day. On Tuesday South Stokes will be having a Career Fair. The fair is a major event with some businesses bringing in large pieces of equipment. This will change the traffic pattern on Tuesday morning drop off. Cars will be directed to drop off at the lane after the first row of parking in the main lot near the school. We will have people helping to direct traffic. In Saura sports, this week basketball will be in the playoffs. On Tuesday the Girls basketball team travels to Mountain Heritage High School and the boys have a home game against Cherokee High School. Both games begin at 6pm and tickets are $7. With a look ahead, March 1st is Future and Fun Day at South Stokes High School. We will have guest speakers and future-focused activities lined up for our students in the morning with fun and engaging activities in the afternoon.
