Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. Monday is a teacher work day, so students do not come to school until Tuesday. This week is Future Farmers of America Week. All week we are collecting non-perishable and canned food to donate to the East Stokes Outreach. Please bring supplies to help us fill the feed trough! The feed trough will be located in the lower lobby all week. Tuesday is Blue Collar vs. White Collar, Wednesday is Carhart Day, Thursday is Rodeo Day and Friday is Drive your tractor to school day and FFA Day. Don't miss out on the 2024 South Stokes yearbook! Final deadline to purchase your copy is this Friday, February 23rd. Buy now at www.jostens.com/yearbooks Tuesday and Thursday our ACT review sessions for Juniors continues after school from 3:30-4:30. This week the sessions will focus on math , and will be in room F6 with Mrs. Patterson. Juniors interested in participating should sign up in the office on Monday. Snacks and drinks will be provided. There will be a Forsyth Tech interest meeting for rising Juniors and Seniors on Wednesday, February 21 at 10:00 in the media center for students that would like to learn more about college courses and programs that are available while still in high school. Students that have taken Forsyth Tech courses before do not need to attend. Friday we will be on the Homeroom schedule to pass out information about ACT testing on February 27th. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Abigail Montgomery & Makayla Boles. Both of these students worked with 2 of Mrs. Fouche's students to help them do an activity with our Health Science 1 class (making pasta skeletons) and showed great compassion and patience with the students to make them feel comfortable. Thank you for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, the Conference basketball tournament will be taking place at East Wilkes High School. The girls will play their first game on Tuesday, and the boys on Wednesday, times to be determined. This information can also be found at the events section of our school homepage as well as under the Saura Weekly Updates on the school web page. Thank you for your support of South Stokes High School, and as always, GO SAURAS!
