Saura Weekly Update 12/6/21-12/10/21

Hello Sauras, this is Mr. Bottoms with your weekly update from South Stokes. This week we are having a Winter Spirit Week. Monday is Merry Morning Monday (Pajama Day), Tuesday is Trippy Sock Day, Wednesday is Winter White out, wear white, Thursday is Tacky sweater day, and Friday is Dress as your favorite winter character day. Drivers Ed is now open. Parents please read all information on the driver's education website. Class begins January 18th. Monday, December 6th we will have an Athletic Boosters meeting at 6:30 in the cafeteria at South. All public performances of the South Stokes HS Theatre Department’s production of The Living Storybook: Wizard of Oz are cancelled. Instead, virtual performances of the show will be shown on the South Stokes YouTube channel. Stay tuned for further info. Seniors, the yearbook is accepting baby photos for a special page in this year's book! This is different from senior ads and there is no cost to submit a photo. Please see Ms. Smith in D6 for guidelines and to submit a photo. All photos will be scanned and returned to you and the deadline to submit them is Dec. 10. Senior ads will be advertised after Christmas. Exams will be December 15th, 16th, 17th 20th and early dismissal on the 21st. Each of these days will be an early dismissal at 12:20. Students must bring a note to be dismissed early after their exam is over. On Tuesday December 7th we will have an away basketball game at McMichael High School. On Wednesday December 8th, Wrestling will have a match at East Wilkes High School. On Friday December 10th we will have a home basketball game against Allegheny High School. Also on Friday night the Band Boosters are sponsoring a Paint Night in the cafeteria at 5pm and 7pm. This Saturday December 11th South Stokes will be hosting the Joe Via Invitational Wrestling Tournament. On Sunday, December 12th at 3pm in the South Stokes Auditorium the South Stokes Band will be having its Saura Band Christmas Concert.
