Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. Monday progress reports will be coming home. A reminder that The next driver education class is currently enrolling students for the class to be held on January 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, 10th, and 12th of 2023. Eligible students must be born on or before July 4th, 2008. Selected candidates will be posted on Dec. 15th, payment by December 21st. Parents be sure to read all information on the Drivers Education page on our website to make sure your child will be able to attend. The Band Boosters are holding a paint night this Friday December 9th. There will be two sessions, one at 5:00 PM, and one at 7:00 PM. The cost is $25 a person/per session or $40 per person for both sessions, or $40 for two people per session. You can book your session online as well, just see the Facebook post on the school or Boosters Facebook page. On Saturday the JROTC cadets will be marching in the Walnut Cove Christmas parade, as well as the South Stokes Sauras Marching Band and several student organizations and clubs. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to MSGT Grogan and CWO3 Jurkiewicz for the hard work and dedication to the Marine Corps JROTC program at South Stokes, thank you. This week in Saura Sports, on Tuesday basketball travels to North Surry, on Wednesday wrestling is home against Mt. Airy. On Thursday the swim team will be at Rockingham High School. On Friday, basketball is at Alleghany, and on Saturday Wrestling will be hosting the Joe Via Invitational at South Stokes.
