Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. This week our Pep Club is sponsoring Christmas Spirit Week at South Stokes. Monday is Night Before Christmas (Pajama Day), Tuesday is Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, Wednesday is Feeling Frosty Day (wear white), Thursday is All I Want for Christmas is my Favorite Team (Jersey Day) and Friday is Favorite Christmas Character Day when students can dress up like their favorite Christmas character. There is an Athletic Booster's meeting this Monday at 6:30 in the cafeteria. This week students in Math 1, Math 3, English 2, and Biology classes will be taking the NC Check-in Assessments. These formative assessments will help our teachers understand where learning gaps and where students will need to focus for reviewing the EOCs. The assessments will be given in class this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This Friday night the Band Boosters are hosting paint night in the cafeteria. There are two sessions, one at 5pm and one at 7pm. Check out the Band Booster Facebook page for cost and booking your session. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Hanna Hornschuch. Hanna is an amazing young lady who has befriended and likewise gained the friendship and admiration of her peers through acts of kindness and selfless service to the arts. Thank you for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, on Tuesday basketball travels to Surry Central and swim travels to Alleghany. On Thursday wrestling is at home. On Friday basketball hosts Alleghany. On Saturday, the wrestling team travels to Lexington High.
