Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. This week we have short, but busy, week. On Monday, November 6th, we will have homeroom in order to distribute first quarter report cards. On Monday, we will also have an Athletic Boosters Club meeting in the cafeteria at SSHS at 6:30 pm. On Tuesday, November 7th, school is out for a required teacher work day. Students return to school on Wednesday, November 8th. Also on Tuesday, there will be a Band Boosters Meeting in the band room at 6:00 pm. On Thursday, South Stokes will be holding a Career Fair for our 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. There will be over 85 exhibitors at the Career Fair, and we hope that our students are able to discover information about a successful pathway for after high school graduation. Please encourage your child to ask questions, get informed about careers that interest them, and remember to tell them to dress to impress potential future employers by not wearing pajamas to school on Thursday. On Friday we will not have school in honor of Veterans Day. Our Gift Basket donation fundraiser is underway, and we have had several people purchase raffle tickets community members. Raffle tickets cost $5, and the different baskets are on display in the trophy case at South Stokes in the lobby. You can purchase tickets in the main office and online through schoolcashonline at the school website. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Christina Sawyer and Lauren Hill. Mrs. Sawyer and Mrs. Hill have worked hard as our school counselors and work with our students everyday to help them be successful at our school and prepare for their futures. Thank you for your kindness and leadership. This week in Saura Sports, Fall sports have wrapped up, and winter sports are underway. The boys basketball team has scrimmages on Thursday and Saturday this week. This information can also be found at the events section of our school homepage as well as under the Saura Weekly Updates on the school web page. Thank you for your support of South Stokes High School, and as always, GO SAURAS!
