Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. On Monday, October 30th, school is out for a teacher workday. Students return to school on Tuesday, October 31st. On Tuesday, students that would like to dress up for Halloween must make sure their costumes are school appropriate, do not include masks, no weapons or blood. On November 1st we will be holding the SSHS Fall Blood Drive. Please sign up to help our community by giving blood. Also on Wednesday the school will begin a donation fundraiser. Community members have donated items to be raffled off in themed baskets. Raffle tickets cost $5, and the different baskets are on display in the main office. We will also be posting the basket raffle online later this week for purchase through schoolcashonline. The funds raised will help our school general fund to support instructional programs and campus beautification. This week's Saura Shout Out goes to Renee Himmelspach and Krystal Cox. Mrs. Himmelspach and Mrs. Cox organized our theme baskets for the Basket Raffle and worked hard to collect donations. Thank you for your kindness and leadership Mrs. Himmelspach and Mrs, Cox. This week in Saura Sports, on Monday Soccer plays at North Rowan in the first round of the state playoffs. On Monday and Tuesday, Haley Tyndall will be going to the Women's Golf state finals, good luck Haley. On Friday night, our football team travels to Bishop McGuinness for the first round of the state playoffs. This information can also be found at the events section of our school homepage as well as under the Saura Weekly Updates on the school web page. Thank you for your support of South Stokes High School, and as always, GO SAURAS!
