Saura Weekly Update 10/24/22 - 10/28/22

Hello Sauras, this is your weekly update from South Stokes. On Tuesday there will be a band booster meeting in the band room at 6:00 PM. On Wednesday students that wish to be on the competition cheer team will have tryouts after school from 3:30 - 6:00 PM. This Friday marks the end of the first quarter, and the halfway mark of the first semester. South Stokes High School will be hosting a Haunted House this Saturday, October 29th beginning at 7pm and ending around 10pm. The cost is $8, and snacks and drinks will be sold. The funds raised will go to help the our school. Tickets can be purchased online through our homepage or Facebook page, as well as sold the night of the event. Patrons enter the haunted house at the main entrance of the school in the lobby. Next week on November 4th and 5th the Theater Department at South Stokes will be presenting public performances of the Living Storybook. This week I would like to send out a Saura Shout out to Elise Spencer and Django Burgess on their terrific performance this weekend in the Andy Griffith Playhouse's performance of Shrek Jr., the musical. This week in Saura Sports, soccer will be playing against North Stokes at 5:30 at Piney Grove Middle School. On Tuesday, the Lady Sauras volleyball team continue their run to the second round of the state playoffs after their incredible upset victory this past Saturday against Mount Airy. They will travel to Highlands School to play at 5:00 PM. Wednesday soccer plays at home against Elkin for Senior Night. On Thursday JV Football is home against Elkin. On Friday, our varsity football team travels to Elkin High School for the last game of the regular season. This Saturday members of the cross country team will be competing in regionals at Ivey Redmon.
